The department for transport has today published its Future of Mobility: Urban Strategy document. At 78 pages there is quite some detail across several elements around urban Mobility and Mobility as a Service (MaaS) - so probably worth getting a cuppa before sitting down to read it through.
Framed as a Principle based approach, which stresses safety and the environment at its core, there is also clear signposting for the need for companies and organisations to work collaboratively and in an open way, especially around technology and data.
This approach is to be welcomed but may also cause larger organisations a degree of pain as they try to adapt different working structures and commercial/ ownership norms. Perhaps that is good as the seismic changes the DFT is looking to create is going to need a lot of people all pulling in the same direction.
